Application Instructions for Conversion Coat Phosphatizer

Custom Coaters Phosphatizer has been formulated and designed for dip tank applications.

When using Conversion Coat Phosphatizer a dilution of 10 to 15:1 (10 parts water to 1 part product) is sufficiant.  Optimum temperature of the mixture is 120° F and not to exceed 150° F due to evaporation.

Immerse the part into the mixture and allow it to soak for 5 to 10 minutes (time varies depending on the material and its density).  When removed you will see a blue-green/ blue-gold "rainbow" finish. The longer the part remains, the darker it will become.  During this time the conversion coat have been applied and an etching process has taken place. Follow with a rinse and either blow dry, or wipe the part dry removing any residual water.

It is not uncommon to see flash rust form, if this is the case then wipe flash rust off or remove it with a non-acid based rust remover such as Liqui-Flash or similar product.

If the part is to remain "on the shelves" for a long length of time then spray with WD-40 or similar product and remembering to degrease the part before applying your finish.
